SCS2021 Fellowships
We are offering registration waiver fellowships to help students attend SCS2021!
These fellowships are of two types:
1. Fellowships for speakers: all participants who fulfill eligibility criteria and have submitted an abstract to SCS2021 but have demonstrable financial barriers to pay the registration fee are eligible to apply for this type of fellowship.
2. Fellowship for attendees: all participants who fulfill eligibility criteria and want to attend the SCS2021 but have demonstrable financial barriers to pay the registration fee can apply to this fellowship (abstract submission is not necessary).
How to apply
To apply for SCS2021 fellowships fill the survey of this link with the appropriate information until July 18th, 2021, 23:59 (UTC-7).
To consider:
- Applying for a fellowship does not guarantee that you will receive funding. All applications will be peer-reviewed.
- If you require a fellowship to attend the symposium, please do not register before you have been notified that your application has been approved. You will receive further instructions if the evaluation is successful.
- Fellowship funding may only cover your expenses for SCS2021 registration. These fellowships cannot cover any ISMB2021 expenses.
Notification
Applicants will be notified no later than July 20th, 2021, of the fellowship award.
CABANA fellowships
Thanks to the support of the GCRF-funded CABANA project, we are offering registration waiver fellowships to help Latin American (LA) students attend SCS2021!
These fellowships are of two types:
- Fellowships for speakers: all-LA participants who fulfill eligibility criteria and have submitted an abstract to SCS2021, but have demonstrable financial barriers to pay the registration fee are eligible to apply for this type of fellowship.
- Fellowship for attendees: all-LA participants who fulfill eligibility criteria and want to attend the SCS2021, but have demonstrable financial barriers to pay the registration fee can apply to this fellowship (abstract submission not necessary).
Eligibility
Fellowships for speakers
- Submit an abstract to SCS2021.
- Be a speaker (poster/talk).
- Be associated with a university or a research institute as an undergraduate, master or Ph.D. student, or Post-doctoral researcher
- Studying or working in LA countries and territories listed in the DAC List of official development assistance (ODA) Recipients (This list does not include Chile and Uruguay).
- You do not need to be a member of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) to receive the fellowship.
- Have a demonstrated financial need.
Fellowship for attendees
- Be associated with a university or a research institute as an undergraduate, master or PhD student, or Post-doctoral researcher
- Studying or working in LA countries and territories listed in the DAC List of official development assistance (ODA) Recipients (This list does not include Chile and Uruguay).
- You do not need to be a member of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) to receive the fellowship.
- Have a demonstrated financial need.
